Customer Profile :-
Customer is an independent ISV specializing in XML based Business
Intelligence solutions that are easily customizable and can be used over a wide variety of data sources, through a RAD Integrated Development Environment.
Business Situation :-
Customer has a large following among corporations because of its ASP.NET based reporting services, but one of their major concerns was to attract customers who were using Crystal Reports, and looking for a better option. They wanted a partner who had in-depth knowledge of Crystal Reports, who would learn their proprietary syntax of report files, and more importantly, a partner who would take up the responsibility, manifest ownership and still provide a cost effective solution.
Solution :-
We envisaged a component that converts a Crystal Report to their report, designed by our experts on Crystal Reports Object Model for .NET, and the XML API in the Microsoft.Net SDK. The communication between Customer and Proteans was managed by a "Technical Lead" who on the one hand, managed goals, while on the other, tested the results of the development process along with providing solutions to difficult conversion issues.
